A nine-member delegation led by Md Rezaul Karim, chairman of Shippers’ Council of Bangladesh, will leave Dhaka for Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday for an important business tour, says a press release.

The SCB senior vice-chairman Md Ariful Ahsan; vice-chairman Ganesh Chandra Saha and directors Arzu Rahman Bhuiyan, Syed Md Bakhtiar, Md Nurussafa Babu, Ziaul Islam, Ataur Rahman Khan and Lokapriya Barua will accompany the chairman.

During the tour, the SCB delegation will meet with the Malaysian National Shippers’ Council for a bilateral meeting scheduled to be held on July 13 in Kuala Lumpur.

This meeting is intended to initiate a direct dialogue between the two councils and to establish a platform for long-term cooperation.

‘As leading representatives of the shipper community in our respective countries, it is timely and important that we explore opportunities to collaborate on common interests, including trade facilitation, shipping and port connectivity, cost structures and regulatory developments affecting exporters and importers in the region,’ says the press release.
