
The United States Embassy in Dhaka Charge D’Affaires and acting ambassador to Bangladesh Tracey Ann Jacobson paid a courtesy call to Sylhet City Corporation administrator Khan Mohammas Reza-Un-Nabi, also Sylhet divisional commissioner, at the Nagar Bhaban in Sylhet city on Tuesday noon.
Khan Mohammad Reza-un-Nabi presented a brief narration about different services and development activities of the corporation in the meeting and sought the cooperation of the United States for the smooth implementation of development schemes.
He also expressed his heartiest appreciation to the United States of America’s acting ambassador in Dhaka for her government’s continuous cooperation with Bangladesh.
In response, the US Charge D'Affaires Tracey Ann Jacobson highlighted the friendly relations between the governments of Bangladesh and the United States and said that the relationship would be strengthened further in the future.
She also assured in the meeting of continuing the cooperation in the development of Sylhet.
Sylhet City Corporation’s chief executive officer Mohammad Rezai Rafin Sarker, its secretary Md Ashiq Noor, chief engineer Nur Azizur Rahman, chief health officer Md Zahidul Islam and chief waste management officer lieutenant colonel, retired, Eklim Abdin, the US embassy economic officer D Richard Rasmussen and its political specialist Riroz Ahmed, among others, participated in the programme.
