Two people were arrested at Companiganj upazila in Sylhet on Tuesday morning after recovering a huge amount of contraband drugs from their possession.
The arrested are Rahmat Ali, 50, son of late Araj Ali of Parua Lamapara village at the Companiganj upazila, and his neighbour Ishak Ali, 45, son of late Saiyad Ali, police said.
The police said that on information, they conducted a drive at the house of Rahmat Ali at around 9:30am and seized 11,600 Yaba tablets, 2 kilograms of cannabis, 8 reels of fuel paper and Tk 9,200, allegedly earned by selling the drugs, from his house.
The law enforcers also arrested Rahmat Ali and his associate Ishaq at his house, the police said.聽
The Companiganj police officer-in-charge Uzayer Al Mahmud Adnan confirmed the incidents of seizure of drugs and arrest of drug peddlers to 抖阴精品.
He said that a case under the Narcotics Control Act was also filed with the police station against them.
鈥楾he arrested were produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in the afternoon and the court ordered to send them to jail in the case,鈥� the police officer said.
