Mosaddek Hossain鈥檚 3-19 and Ashikur Rahman鈥檚 60 off 39 ensured a commanding nine-wicket victory for Dhaka against Sylhet at the Sylhet International Stadium outer ground in the ongoing NCL T20 on Sunday.聽
Sylhet were restricted to 134-7 after opting to bat first. Amit Hasan (52 off 46) and Asadullah Al Galib (52 off 44) added 82 for the third wicket but failed to lift the run rate as Dhaka鈥檚 spinners kept things tight.聽
Shuvagata Hom and Mahfuzur Rahman Rabbi chipped in with two wickets apiece for Dhaka as they used seven bowlers.聽
Dhaka鈥檚 chase was powered by a blazing 93-run opening stand between Ashiqur and Rayan Rafsan Rahman.聽
Ashiqur鈥檚 innings consisted of six fours and three sixes before Rafsan (46*) and Ariful Islam (26* off 18) wrapped up the chase in 17 overs.
This was Dhaka鈥檚 second win in three matches that took them to top of the table with five points, while Sylhet sit fourth with three points.
Earlier, Khulna beat Dhaka Metro by a comfortable 22-run margin at the same venue.聽
Khulna posted 171-5 in 20 overs after being sent in to bat, with Soumya Sarkar (45 off 33), Anamul Haque (49 off 26) and Afif Hossain (33* off 26) all contributing.聽
While chasing, Dhaka Metro looked well placed at 71-2 after a 59-run second-wicket stand between skipper Mohammad Naim Sheikh (33) and Anisul Islam Emon (28).聽
But both were dismissed in the ninth over to trigger a collapse into their innings. They were eventually bowled out for 149 in 19.1 overs.聽
Left-arm seamer Mrittunjoy Chowdhury starred with 3-22, while Sheikh Parvez Rahman Jibon claimed two wickets.
The result lifted Khulna to three points from as many games, moving them above Metro, who remain on two points.
