Metro rail services in Dhaka city were closed for 10 minutes after a drone fell on the line in Uttara area on Saturday evening.
Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited deputy project director (public relations) Md Ahsan Ullah Sharifi said that a drone fell on the metro rail tracks between Uttara Centre and Uttara South stations.
To remove the drone, he said, train services were suspended between 8:47pm and 8:56pm on Saturday.
About the earthquakes jolted the capital again on Saturday evening, he said that the earthquake caused no safety problems in metro rail services.
Quoting company managing director Faruque Ahmed, he added that no significant infrastructural damage happened to the metro rail infrastructure due to the earthquakes struck on Friday and Saturday.
The services of the country鈥檚 first 20.1-kilometre-long metro rail system were inaugurated on December 28, 2022 on the Uttara-Agargaon section, later to be extended up to Motijheel. 聽
