Chief adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on Thursday appointed Professor Ali Riaz as his special assistant with the status of an adviser.
The Cabinet Division issued a gazette notification to the effect.聽
Ali Riaz, a distinguished professor of political science at Illinois State University in the United States, earlier served as the vice-chair of the National Consensus Commission and the chief of the Constitution Reform Commission.
According to the official order, Ali Riaz will enjoy the status, salary and other benefits of an adviser.
