The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change launched an electronic ticketing system for the National Botanical Garden in Mirpur, Dhaka, on Wednesday.
Visitors can now purchase entry tickets through the state-run myGov digital platform at https://eticketing.mygov.bd/botanical-garden.
The new system generates QR code-based tickets, which can be shown directly from a smartphone or printed out for entry.
Farhina Ahmed, secretary of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, inaugurated the platform at an event held at the garden.
According to ministry officials, the e-ticketing system is a joint initiative between the Forest Department and a2i (Aspire to Innovate). This new system allows visitors to buy tickets online from the comfort of their homes and visit the garden on their selected date.
Officials also highlighted that the use of modern technology would ensure full transparency in ticket sales and reduce paper usage.
The launch event was chaired by Amir Hossain Chowdhury, Chief Conservator of Forests at the Forest Department. Other attendees included Abdur Rafiq, Project Director of a2i, Shamima Begum, Joint Secretary (Forest Wing), as well as officials from the National Zoo and Bangladesh National Herbarium.
