Environment, forest and climate change ministry revised and reduced the entry fee for the National Botanical Garden in Mirpur of the capital following the directive from the ministry adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan, said a press release on Thursday.

The entry fee for visitors aged above 12 has been reduced to Tk 30 from Tk 100. The entry fee for children aged between 6 and 12 has been set at Tk 15 while children aged between 0 and 5 can enter the garden for free. The previous entry fee was Tk 50 for children aged under 12.


For groups of up to 100 students from educational institutions, the entry fee has been set at Tk 1,000 and for groups of 101 to 200 students the fee has been set at Tk 1,500.

Foreign tourists will be charged an entry fee of Tk 500 or its equivalent USD.

Additionally, an annual entry card fee for morning walks has been set at Tk 500 per person.

Cardholders can visit the garden from 6:30am to 9:30am between November and March and from 6:00am to 9:00am between April and October.

In case of loss or renewal of the card, a fee of Tk 200 will be required for a new card.

The ministry also issued a notification regarding the new fees on Wednesday.

On April 21, the ministry issued a notification announcing the erstwhile increased fee for botanical gardens and eco-parks under the forest department that elicited public reactions.
