Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in Dhaka resumed flight operations at 9:00pm on Saturday night after authorities successfully contained a fire that broke out at the airport’s cargo village around 2:15pm.

The civil aviation and tourism ministry confirmed that the fire was fully under control.


HSIA executive director SM Ragib Samad, also a Group Captain in the Bangladesh Air Force, confirmed that flight operations resumed at 9:00pm, with the first flight landing at around 9:06pm.

No fatalities have been reported from the incident.
