All flight operations at Dhaka鈥檚 Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport were temporarily suspended on Saturday afternoon after a fire broke out in the airport鈥檚 cargo section.
The airport鈥檚 executive director鈥檚 representative, Md Masudul Hasan Masud, confirmed the suspension in a message issued around 3:30pm.
According to the Fire Service and Civil Defence, the fire was reported at about 2:30pm.
鈥楽ixteen units were working to bring the blaze under control, while another 16 units were dispatched to the scene,鈥� said Talha Bin Zasim, station officer at the Fire Service media cell, around 3:40pm.
No immediate reports of casualties or damage were available.
