A Dhaka court imposed a travel ban on Dhaka Metropolitan Police additional commissioner Harun-or-Rashid and his wife Shireen Akter on Tuesday.
Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Mohammad Ash-Shams Joglul Hossain issued the order following a petition from the Anti-Corruption Commission, ACC public prosecutor Mahamud Hossain Jahangir told BSS.
Harun-or-Rashid, also former DMP Detective Branch chief, and joint commissioner of the DMP Biplob Kumar Sarker were named accused in a case lodged against some police officials recently over beating up former chief whip of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, Zainul Abdin Farroque, near the parliament complex on July 6, 2011.
