Unidentified arsonists set fire to seven more vehicles in Dhaka, Shariatpur, Munshiganj, Tangail and Gopalganj on early Thursday.
The incidents occurred between 12:15am and 6:00am on Thursday, said Rozina Akhter, duty officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence control room.
Dhaka-Bhanga expressway was blocked from 6:00am till 8:00am on the day in Shariatpur鈥檚 Zajira in front of the Padma Bridge as some unruly people took to the streets and set a truck on fire.
They also exploded some crude bombs and vandalised vehicles on the road, said Golam Rasul, officer-in-charge of Padma Bridge south police station.
OC Golam Rasul also said that one of the on-duty police member sustained minor injuries when they the police tried to disperse the protesters from the road.
Three suspects were detained from the spot for questioning, he added.
In Dhaka, a bus parked in Mirpur DOHS area was set on fire at about 12:15am, according to the fire service.
The bus was gutted before the fire service extinguished the fire after 20 minutes of effort.
In another incident, a human hauler parked in front of the capital鈥檚 Kamalapur railway station was set on fire at about 2:45am.
In Tangail, a bus stopped in Rawail area was set on fire at about 2:30am.
In Munshiganj, a truck and a Pajero car were set on fire in Gazaria area at about 3:30am.
The incidents of arson and crude bomb attacked occurred days after the Awami League, whose activities are currently banned, announced a 鈥楧haka lockdown鈥� on social media for Thursday.
The day is scheduled for announcing the date of delivering the International Crimes Tribunal鈥檚 verdict in a crimes against humanity case against ousted prime minister and Awami League president Sheikh Hasina for atrocities committed across the country during the July uprising in the past year.
