Gono Odhikar Parishad president Nurul Haque Nur was injured in the head and nose in Friday’s attack in Dhaka and a medical board was formed for his treatment as he was not out of danger at the intensive care unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

‘Nurul Haque Nur sustained head injuries and his nasal bone was fractured. We formed a six-member medical board last night for his treatment,’ DMCH director Brigadier General Md Asaduzzaman told ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· Saturday afternoon.


‘It is not possible to say that Nur is out of danger before passing 48 hour,’ he said,

More than 50 leaders and activists of the Gono Odhikar Parishad were injured Friday evening when a clash broke out between the activists of the Jatiya Party and the Parishad in front of JP central office at Bijoynagar in Dhaka.

At one stage, law enforcers charged batons on Nur and others when he received serious injuries.

Meanwhile, different political parties and leaders of the parties, including the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, the Islami Andolon Bangladesh, the Amar Bangladesh Party and the National Citizen Party, condemned the attack on Nur, also a former Dhaka University Central Students’ Union vice-president.

The interim government has also condemned the attack on the Gono Odhikar Parishad president.
