The death toll from the July 21 fighter jet crash into a building of Milestone School and College in the capital鈥檚 Uttara area reached 36 on Saturday as one more student died from her injuries in the morning.

The victim, Tasnia, 15, a student at the school, died at about 7:55am on Saturday at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, said a press release of health and family welfare ministry.


He had 35 per cent burn injuries, the release added.

The victims of the jet crash are mostly primary-level students and received burn injuries.

According to Milestone School and College authorities, the deceased victims include 28 schoolchildren, three schoolteachers, three guardians, and one school attendant.

The other deceased victim is the pilot of the aircraft.

Till Saturday 9:30am, a total of 23 patients, 22 in the burn institute and one in the Combined Military Hospital, are still undergoing treatments following the incident.

A delegation of several physicians and nurses from Singapore, China and India also came to Bangladesh after the jet crash to assist the Bangladeshi physicians in dealing with the situation.
