
The Indian Border Security Force on Thursday pushed 13 more people into Bangladesh through Chamucha border point at Bholahat upazila in Chapainawabganj.
With the new push-ins, the number of people, including Rohingyas and Indian nationals, pushed into Bangladesh by the BSF since May 7 has increased to 2,125.
The Indian border force has so far pushed at least 173 Rohingyas, including 50 registered with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in India, into Bangladesh.
Lieutenant Colonel Golam Kibria, commander of 59 Border Guard Bangladesh, told 抖阴精品 that members of BGB鈥檚 Chanshikari camp detained the thirteen people after they were pushed back into Bangladesh by BSF鈥檚 Kanchantar camp members on early Thursday.
He said that during the primary interrogation, the detainees had informed them that they had gone to India at different times between 2023 and 2025 in search of work.
Later, Indian police arrested them, and after they served various prison terms, handed them over to the BSF, who pushed them back through the border, the BGB official said, adding that they had handed the detainees over the Bholahat police station.
Bholahat police station officer-in-charge Shahidul Islam told 抖阴精品 that they would verify the identity of the detainees first and then take necessary legal actions.
Earlier, on June 2, BSF had pushed back another eight Bangladeshis through the Chan Shikari border in Bholahat upazila.
