
Yasmeen Murshed, founder of Scholastica School, educator and former adviser to a caretaker government, was laid to rest at Banani Graveyard in Dhaka on Friday.
Yasmeen Murshed, 80, passed away at United Hospital in Gulshan on Thursday night. She is survived by her son Maher Murshed and daughter Madiha Murshed.
Her first namaz-e-janaza was held at Azad Mosque in Gulshan after Jummah prayers on Friday.
Family members, Scholastica alumni and well-wishers from across the country attended the namaz-e-janaza to pay their last respects.
Her body was later taken to the Uttara Senior Campus of Scholastica, where former colleagues, teachers, students and their parents, among others, gathered and offered their final tributes.
Following a second janaza held on the school premises, Yasmeen Murshed was laid to rest.
