
A four-day non-fiction storytelling workshop for Bangladeshi women filmmakers concluded at Bengal Shilpalay at Dhanmondi in Dhaka on Sunday.
The workshop was organised by Dhaka DocLab.
Fifteen young women filmmakers participated in the workshop aimed to bridge the gender gap in the film industry by empowering women to bring their unique stories to life.
The closing ceremony included a pitch session while each participant talked about their forthcoming non-fiction films and filmmaker Humaira Bilkis, Syed Imran Hossain Kirmani and Dhaka DocLab director Tareq Ahmed discussed their projects at the event.
Bangladeshi filmmaker Elizabeth D Costa, Farid Ahmed and Tareq Ahmed conducted the workshop while renowned Indian cinematographer Nilotpal Majumdar virtually joined the workshop as a mentor.
Raka Noshin Nower, Sadia Khalid Reeti, Tayran Razzak, Nafia Afrin, Tahsin Noor Mittrita, Kulsuma Begum, Shiam Shams, among others, were the participants in the workshop.
The best three projects from this workshop will be participating at Dhaka DocLab 2025 scheduled to be held in August this year.
The four-day workshop was inaugurated on Thursday at the venue.
