
The National Citizen Party on Friday launched its youth wing, Jatiya Juba Shakti, with the announcement of a 131-member committee, comprising representatives from all 64 districts of the country.
NCP chief coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari made the announcement at the launching ceremony held in front of the Awami League’s central office on Shaheed Abrar Fahad Avenue in Dhaka, previously known as Bangabandhu Avenue, in the capital’s Gulistan.
NCP joint chief coordinator (Youth) Tariqul Islam has been appointed as convener and joint member secretary Jahedul Islam as member secretary of the new youth wing.
Besides, NCP joint chief coordinators Tuhin Mahbub and Nahida Bushra will serve as senior joint convener and senior member secretary of Juba Shakti respectively.
Joint chief coordinator (North) Dutee Aranya Chowdhury will also serve as senior member secretary.
NCP chief coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari at the event, said, ‘With the vision of transforming Bangladesh into a strong state in South Asia, we began the Shaheed Abrar Study Circle. Following that, we formed Chhatra Shakti that led a mass uprising with support from all parties.’
‘Jatiya Juba Shakti is a continuation of that movement. Now, we are organising ourselves across all sectors from workers to expatriates,’ he added.
NCP member secretary Akhtar Hossain was present at the event along with party’s other senior leaders.
