A seven-member investigation committee has been formed to probe the death of Shahriar Alam Shammo, a student of the Institute of Education and Research of Dhaka University, who died in an attack by miscreants on Tuesday night.
Arts faculty dean Professor Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan has been made the convener of the committee.
Other members of the committee include law faculty dean Professor Muhammad Ekramul Haque; social science faculty dean Professor Taiabur Rahman; Haji Muhammad Mohsin Hall provost Professor Md Serajul Islam; and Department of Persian Language and Literature Professor Md Abul Kalam Sarker.
Assistant proctor Sharmin Kabir will serve as the member secretary of the committee, while deputy registrar (investigation) Sheikh Ayub Ali will assist with secretarial duties.
The committee has been requested to submit its investigation report within the next three working days.
