A Dhaka court on Thursday sent to jail former agriculture minister and Awami League presidium member Abdur Razzaque and former civil aviation and tourism minister Lt Colonel, retd, Faruk Khan in two separate murder cases.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ali Haider passed the orders as the police produced Razzaque and Faruk before the court after the end of their two-day remand each in trader Abdul Wadud and Bangladesh Nationalist Party activist Md Mokbul murder cases respectively.


The two concerned investigation officers in the cases pleaded to keep the accused behind bars until the end of the probe into their respective cases. Meanwhile, the court showed Faruk Khan arrested in two more murder cases filed with the capital's Adabor and New Market Police Stations.

Abdur Razzaque was arrested from the capital's Eskaton area on October 14, while Rapid Action Battalion in an overnight drive arrested Faruk Khan from his house in Dhaka cantonment area at around 1:45am on October 15.
