A cultural event titled ‘Celebration of the Beloved’, featuring Sufi and traditional performances, was held at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Friday.
The event, organised by the Shabaz Foundation, comprised performances such as punthi, Sufi songs, qawwali, and drama.
The programme opened with a naat performed by students from Shahbaz Academy, Rupganj, Narayanganj.
Sufi music and qawwali were performed by the bands Qarar and Nafs, while the Shahbazi cultural team presented punthi.
Sufi dance, or Raqs, was performed by the group Hu.
The event also featured the drama Ishq Nabi, staged by the Falcon Drama Group.
Since 2020, the Shabaz Foundation has organised this annual event to celebrate and preserve Sufi culture and traditions.
