
The drama and film department of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy has organised a three-day Street Theatre Festival in Sunamganj.
Under the management of the District Shilpakala Academy, Sunamganj, an injured in the recent Student-People Uprising Ripon Mia inaugurated the festival on the premises of the Central Shaheed Minar in the district on Thursday, said a press release. Â
Sunamganj deputy commissioner Md Ilias Miah was present as chief guest while Principal Shergul Ahmed was present as a special guest in the opening ceremony.
Bandhan Theatre staged its theatrical production titled Bauler Katha and Ekata Natya Sangstha performed Shiksha, while Rangdhanu Band Sylhet performed people’s songs and Satya Shabda Sangathan staged a poetry recitation titled Sab Mane Rakha Habe on the opening day.
Under the theme ‘Don’t give up, friend, but raise your voice loudly’, the second day of the festival is scheduled to feature Kathakali Theatre’s theatrical production ‘Kauya Samachar’, and Theatre Ekush’s production ‘Jago’.
