Bangladesh Medical University held a commemorative meeting on Professor Dr Mobin Khan, former treasurer of the BMU and founding chairperson of the department of haepatology, marking his first anniversary of death, at the Lecture Hall of BMU’s Super Specialised Hospital in Dhaka on Saturday.Â
The meeting, organised by the department of hepatology of BMU, Hepatology Society and Association for the Study of Liver Diseases Bangladesh, was presided over by vice-chancellor of BMU, Professor Dr Md Shahinul Alam, said a press release.
Professor Shahinul Alam said that Professor Dr Mobin Khan had a dynamic life. ‘He was unparalleled in punctuality. He was unparalleled in taking any work forward even in adverse situations.’
‘If doctors and residents do not follow the qualities of Professor Mobin Khan, who possesses extraordinary qualifications, higher medical education will face serious challenges in the coming days,’ mentioned the VC.
BMU pro-VC, research and development, Professor Dr Md Mujibur Rahman Howlader said, ‘His concentration in the academic field was unparalleled. Along with medical education, he also made great contributions in research. He will be forever remembered for his contribution to the medical service of the masses.’
Hepatology Society general secretary Professor Dr Md Golam Azam and BMU hepatology department associate professor Dr Saiful Islam moderated the programme.
After the discussion, a digital classroom was inaugurated in the memory of Professor Dr Mobin Khan at the hepatology department of BMU in the presence of his family members.
