A training workshop on ‘Cloud Computing for Industry/Businesses: Driving Digital Transformation and Cyber Security Measures for Industry/Businesses’ was held on Saturday at the boardroom of the Bangladesh Chamber of Industries in the capital.

The event was organized by BCI to enhance awareness and capacity among industrial and business leaders regarding cloud-based digital transformation and cyber security practices.


Secretary of the ICT Division Shish Haider Chowdhury attended the workshop as the chief guest while BCI president Anwar-Ul Alam Chowdhury (Parvez) presided over the session.

Rifat Rahman, chief executive officer of Tirzok Private Limited attended as a resource person and Md. Khairul Amin former director general of the National Cyber Security Agency joined virtually as co-trainer.

A total of 25 participants from various institutions and BCI member organizations took part in the workshop, said a press release.

While speaking at the event, BCI president Anwar-Ul Alam Chowdhury (Parvez) said BCI has been regularly organizing orientation and training programs on industrialization, foreign trade, and various business-related policies and regulations.

He said that in the era of Artificial Intelligence, rapid technological change demands a parallel transformation in the country’s industrial and business sectors.

‘Cloud computing is revolutionizing businesses worldwide and to stay competitive, our industries must embrace automation, data-driven decision-making, and cloud-based solutions,’ he said.

Anwar also highlighted that with increased digital adoption comes growing cyber security risks, which require strong protective measures.

Addressing the event, ICT Division Secretary Shish Haider Chowdhury praised BCI for organizing a timely and significant workshop on such an important topic.

He said the ICT Division is relentlessly working to ensure data protection and cyber security for citizens and institutions.

‘The ICT Division is formulating necessary laws and policies in collaboration with academia, the private sector, and government agencies to identify and address challenges, and the positive outcomes will soon be visible,’ he added.

The Secretary emphasized the need for a mindset change among service providers, especially within government offices, to ensure transparency and efficiency in public service delivery. He also assured that the ICT Division would continue to provide maximum cooperation to the private sector in the future.

In the second session of the workshop, Rifat Rahman delivered a presentation on ‘Cloud Computing for Industry/Businesses: Driving Digital Transformation,’ while Md. Khairul Amin led a virtual session on ‘Cyber security Measures for Industry/Businesses,’ responding to various queries from participants.

The final session included a feedback exchange and a certificate distribution ceremony where Dr. Delowar Hossain Raza, Director of BCI, handed over certificates to the participants.

The event concluded with remarks from BCI secretary general Md Helal Uddin who thanked the speakers and participants and encouraged all to remain engaged with future BCI initiatives.
