One person was killed and over 30 people were injured in a clash between two rival groups in Brahmanbaria on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Nasir Uddin, 65, son of Mai Uddin.
The incident occurred at Birampur village under Sadekpur union of Brahmanbaria Sadar upazila.
Police said that there was a long standing conflict between the factions of former chairman Harun Miah and Sachu Miah over establishing supremacy in the area. Following this, supporters of two rival factions engaged in a clash with locally made weapons in the morning.
The clash lasted about three hours and Nasir Uddin was killed when the opposition party attacked.聽聽聽
Brahmanbaria sadar model police station officer-in-charge Azharul Islam said that police, being informed, went to the spot and brought the situation under control.
The body of the deceased was sent to Brahmanbaria Government Hospital for autopsy, he added.
