Interim government adviser Mahfuj Alam issued a stern warning on Monday, urging people to refrain from mob violence and from taking the law into their own hands.
In a post on his verified Facebook page, Mahfuj Alam stated, 鈥業f you are in favour of the uprising, stop mobbing; if you continue, you will be treated as devils.鈥�
He added, 鈥楢fter today鈥檚 incident, no further requests will be made. Your role is not to take the law into your own hands,鈥� referring to recent instances of mob violence.
Mahfuj Alam said, 鈥楩rom now on, we will take a firm stance against so-called movements and mob drills,鈥� and warned, 鈥業f there is any attempt to prove the state ineffective or failing, not a single concession will be given.鈥�
He said, 鈥楶eople of Towheed, after a decade and a half, you鈥檝e got the opportunity to practise your religion and culture in peace. Your foolishness or arrogance is now threatening to destroy that peace.鈥�
Alam urged everyone to refrain from oppression, warning that it would ultimately lead to their own suffering.
鈥楧o not oppress, nor become victims of oppression,鈥� he said, calling it his final request.
