A six-day group art exhibition titled ‘Eternal Eleven’ of 11 young artists began at the Zainul Gallery of the fine art faculty at Dhaka University on Friday.

The artists addressed mostly the nature and daily life of marginal people, especially low-income people, at the exhibition being organised by Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology.


The exhibition is displaying 88 mixed media works of 11 artists who are the postgraduate students at the SMUCT fine arts department.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Bangla Academy director general Mohammad Azam as chief guest while the university’s trustee board chairman, professor Mostafizul Haque, was present as guest of honour at the inaugural ceremony.

Dhaka University fine art faculty dean professor Azharul Islam Sheikh Chanchal and SMUCT fine and performing arts faculty dean professor Prodip Kumar Nandi spoke at the event chaired by SMUCT vice-chancellor professor Md Shah-E-Alam.

SMUCT fine arts department head Md Amanullah delivered a welcome speech at the event.

Mohammad Azam said that the private universities had the opportunity to promote art-based education.

‘This exhibition is not merely a display of academic achievement — it stands as a milestone in their creative voyage,’ Mostafizul Haque said, adding that each artwork reflected artist’s deep exploration, refined sensitivity, and unwavering dedication to art.

Razia Sultana, Md Kamrul Hasan Sujon, Goutom Pal, Samanta Nasir, Mayesha Anika, Rana Khondokar, Jessyfar Rahman, Zinia Afroze Aurelia, Nando Dulal Paul, Ananya Basak and Avik Roy Chowdhury are the participants of the exhibition which will end on October 22.Â
