
Photographers and activists on Thursday said that people had to fight always for their rights and freedom of speech.
They said that photojournalists played a vital role in different movements.ÌýÌý
They also said that the July mass uprising was an inclusive movement which aspired to an inclusive state.
They made the remarks at the opening ceremony of a five-day solo photography exhibition titled ‘Witness to the Uprising’ by photojournalist Jibon Ahmed.
Netra News and University Press Limited organised the exhibition at the Alliance Française de Dhaka at Dhanmondi in the capital.
Cultural affairs adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki inaugurated the exhibition while photographer Shahidul Alam, member to the University Grants Commission professor Mohammad Tanzimuddin Khan, cultural activist Samina Lutfa, writer and activist Firoz Ahmed, National Citizen Party convener Nahid Islam and exhibition curator Mashruk Ahmed spoke at the event moderated by Netra News editor Tasnim Khalil.Ìý
The exhibition will end on August 11.Ìý
