Young artist Mumtahina Binte Sultan has depicted folk culture and nature in her artworks in her maiden solo exhibition titled Whisper of Folklore under way at the Zainul Gallery of Dhaka University.
The five-day exhibition is featuring more than 50 artworks created using different techniques, including serigraph, applique, tie-dye, woodcarving, metal and others between 2018 and 2025.
Her artwork reflects the age-old cultural traditions and daily life, using dynamic colours and forms to create captivating pieces.
‘I try to experiment tradition and contemporary trends in my artworks,’ said the artist.
Inaugurated on January 11by dean of the faculty of fine art, Azharul Islam Sheikh Chanchal, the exhibition will end today.Â
