A faction of Bangladesh Udichi Shipligoshthi on Wednesday expelled its president Badiur Rahman and vice-president Mahmud Selim from the organisation alleging that they were involved in anti-organisational activities.

A press release issued by the Jamshed Anwar Topon-led faction said that the decision was taken in a meeting of secretaries of the organization on May 20.

The release, signed by Jamshed Anwar Topon, also the general secretary of the organization, stated that the expelled leaders were involved in anti-organisational activities, violating the organisation’s constitution after the 23rd conference, held in February.

Mahmud Selim said that the central committee formed through the February conference was illegal as the conference saw no end.

The two committees, announced amid chaos during the conference, are illegal, he said.

He alleged that the Jamshed Anwar Topon-led faction had kept the central office of Udichi occupied since the conference.
‘The organization president, Badiur Rahman, has received more than 250 letters from Udichi representatives across the country and decided to complete the conference,’ Mahmud Selim said.

On Tuesday, another faction of Udichi announced that their ‘unfinished’ national conference would be held on June 20.
