Entrepreneurs received development training and loans through a month-long programme in Mymensingh organised by the Bangladesh Bank in collaboration with NCC Bank PLC, said a press release.

The programme was recently conducted under ‘Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Programme (SICIP)’ implemented by the Finance Department of the Ministry of Finance with funding from ADB.


Bangladesh Bank Mymensingh Office executive director Md Kawsar Matin attended closing ceremony of the programme as chief guest and distributed certificates along with honorarium cheques among 25 participating entrepreneurs.

Md Nazrul Islam, programme director of SICIP and additional director of SMESPD, Bangladesh Bank (Dhaka), and Md Ayub Ali, joint director and deputy programme director of SICIP, were present as special guests.

NCC Bank deputy managing director Md Zakir Anam handed over loan sanction letters amounting to Tk 3.9 million to 23 out of the 25 trained entrepreneurs.

He said that under the SICIP project implemented by the Finance Division, NCC Bank had been working to promote entrepreneurship development, provide training, and create new entrepreneurs.

He added that the bank was also taking initiatives to support women entrepreneurs and marginalised communities to ensure inclusive economic development.

As part of this initiative, 25 selected entrepreneurs from the Mymensingh region were provided with training and loan facilities, among which 18 were women.

Among others, NCC Bank SVP and SME head Sharif Mohammad Mahsin, regional head of Mymensingh AKM Badrul Hasan and head of business and Mymensingh branch Mohammad Faizur Rahman were present.

At the end of the closing ceremony, an entrepreneur fair was inaugurated, where trained entrepreneurs showcased their products.
