Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC held the 89th meeting of its Shari’ah Supervisory Committee at the bank’s Corporate Head Office on September 24.

The meeting discussed various issues related to Shari’ah compliance in overall Islamic banking operations, said a press release on Wednesday.


The chairman of the Shari’ah Supervisory Committee, Hazrat Maulana Mufti Shahed Rahmani, presided over the meeting.

Members of the committee — Maulana Muhammad Sadequl Islam, Mufti Yousuf Sultan, and Maulana Shah Mohammad Wali Ullah — along with the bank’s board chairman AK Azad, vice-chairmen Mohammed Younus and Mohiuddin Ahmed, directors Md Sanaullah Shahid, Md Abdul Barek, Khandaker Shakib Ahmed, Fakir Akhtaruzzaman, Md Moshiur Rahman Chamak, Fakir Mashrikuzzaman, Fakir Maniruzzaman, and independent directors Nasir Uddin Ahmed and Md Reazul Karim were present.

In addition, the bank’s managing director Mosleh Uddin Ahmed, company secretary Md Abul Bashar, chief financial officer Md Jafar Sadeq, and head of the Shari’ah Secretariat Maulana Md Farid Uddin also attended the meeting.
