PD Singh, chief executive officer – India and South Asia, of Standard Chartered Bank recently visited Bangladesh.

Singh was appointed Standard Chartered’s CEO for India and South Asia in April 2025 and oversees the bank’s operations across South Asia – encompassing key markets such as India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Nepal.


Prior to Standard Chartered, PD Singh was CEO of JP Morgan Chase Bank in India, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the bank’s corporate banking franchise as a founding member. Under his leadership, the bank won multiple industry awards and recognition for outstanding performance.

During the visit, PD Singh met with a range of key stakeholders, including key regulators and clients at various engagement events; top business and corporate leaders; heads of various chambers, economists, heads of multilaterals; and Standard Chartered Bangladesh colleagues.

He exchanged views on the potential of Bangladesh and its journey of development and prosperity and contributing to the growth of the dynamic South Asia region; and reiterated Standard Chartered’s commitment towards our stakeholders and to translate the potential to ultimate success.
