On the occasion of World Friendship Day, Nagad has hosted an inter-university go-kart championship, in which 50 students selected from 12 universities across Bangladesh participated, said a press release.
United International University student Sakib Ibn Sayed emerged as the champion, winning a prize of Tk 50,000 and a champion鈥檚 trophy.
Sakib said, 鈥楾his competition will inspire more youth to take an interest in motor racing and encourage them to participate in international races in the future.鈥櫬�
Zubayer Hossain, a student of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, came out as the first runner-up and received Tk 30,000 along with a trophy, while the second runner-up was Sayed Hossain Chandan, a student of United International University, who won a prize of Tk 20,000 and a trophy.聽
Nagad assistant administrator and Bangladesh Post Office deputy postmaster general Khandaker Shahnur Sabbir distributed prizes among the winners in an event recently.
He said, 鈥業 am truly impressed by the enthusiastic participation of the youth in such a unique event. Motorsports is still a new domain in Bangladesh, which offers opportunity for young people to gain experience.鈥�
At the event, Nagad chief marketing officer Symon Imran Hyder said, 鈥楴agad has always stood with the dynamism of youth and will continue to do so. We believe that the progressive and innovative spirit of the younger generation will drive Bangladesh toward economic prosperity.鈥�
He also said that Nagad planned to organise such events on a larger scale in the future to encourage the youth鈥檚 interest in sports and their willingness to take on challenges.
