Southeast University achieved a major milestone with its first-ever appearance in the QS Asia University Rankings 2026, a distinction celebrated at a special event on Thursday.

The programme, held at the university’s conference room and chaired by pro-vice-chancellor Professor M Mofazzal Hossain, highlighted SEU’s strong performance across multiple indicators, said a press release.

He announced that the university ranked 9th among private universities and 23rd among all universities in Bangladesh.

In the broader region, it secured the 224th position in Southern Asia and placed within the 741–750 band in Asia—its inaugural entry into the prestigious list.

Expressing gratitude to faculty and staff, Professor Mofazzal praised their ‘tremendous hard work and unwavering dedication,’ noting that the achievement reflects SEU’s growing commitment to quality and academic excellence.

The event was attended by the registrar, deans, department heads, professors and senior officials.
