A political science book titled ‘My Golden Bengal: Views and Voices from Civil Society’ was launched at a publication ceremony held at the University Press Limited office in Dhaka on Saturday, said a press release.

The book, written by former Swiss Ambassador to Bangladesh René Holenstein, features a collection of introspective interviews of eminent members of the civil society of Bangladesh.


Divided into eight chapters, the book explores the history, present and possible future of the country providing distinctive and new insights into old issues.

Power and Participation Research Centre executive chairman Hossain Zillur Rahman, ambassador of Switzerland to Bangladesh Reto Renggli, Nijera Kori coordinator Khushi Kabir, Jahangirnagar University professor Shahab Enam Khan, UPL managing director Mahrukh Mohiuddin, Gono Forum founder Dr Kamal Hossain, University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh professor Salimullah Khan and BRAC University centre for peace and justice executive director Manzoor Hasan, among others, were present at the ceremony.
