Chief adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus and Bhutanese prime minister Tshering Tobgay on Saturday discussed ways to strengthen coordination on all fronts between the two countries.
They led their respective countries in bilateral talks at the chief adviser’s office in Tejgaon.
The two leaders had a tete-a-tete before the delegation level talks.
Earlier, the chief adviser welcomed the Bhutanese prime minister at his office.
The delegation level talks highlighted various areas of bilateral cooperation, including trade and investment, communication, education, agriculture, health, energy and power, telecommunications, tourism, culture, youth and sports, and industry, officials said.
In the morning, he laid a wreath at the altar of the National Martyrs’ Memorial in Savar to pay homage to the martyrs of Bangladesh’s Liberation War and planted a tree on the premises of the memorial shortly after his arrival in Dhaka on a two-day state visit.
Foreign adviser Md Touhid Hossain called on visiting Bhutanese prime minister Tshering Tobgay at a city hotel and discussed issues of mutual interest.
Commerce adviser Sheikh Bashir Uddin also called on the visiting Bhutanese prime minister.
