The Indian Border Security Force early Saturday returned two Bangladeshi youths, whom they had detained at Patgram border in Lalmonirhat the previous evening.

Lieutenant Colonel Sheikh Muhammad Musahid Masum, commander of Border Guard Bangladesh Rangpur 61 Battalion, said that the Indian border force returned the two youths at 2:00am through a flag meeting between the border forces.

The detainees were Mahfuz Islam Rimon, 17, a Secondary School Certificate examinee, and Sajedul Islam, 24.

On Friday evening, the two youths entered an Indian tea garden through Sub Pillar 1 of Main Border Pillar 825 in the no-man鈥檚-land area on Gatiarvita border around 6:00pm, according to the BGB.

Later, a team of BSF members detained them as they spotted them video recording on their phones.

Earlier on Friday morning, the BSF picked up two Bangladeshi farmers from the Biral border in Dinajpur.

Local people then caught two Indian nationals from the same area in the morning and handed them over to the BGB.

Later in the evening, the two border forces swapped the detained individuals after a flag meeting.
