
The Border Guard Bangladesh on Tuesday said that they brought back three Bangladeshis who were detained by India鈥檚 Border Security Force two days ago on penetration charges in the northwestern frontier.
BGB鈥檚 Thakurgaon-based 50 BGB battalion said that BSF detained three Bangladeshis who penetrated 150 yards of India territory at the Waligarh near Dabri on Sunday.
BGB鈥檚 battalion commander Lieutenant Colonel Tanzir Ahmed said that soon after getting the information Bangladeshi border guards communicated with the Indian counterparts and held a company commander level flag meeting on the next day, resulting in their return home.
BSF handed them to BGB while the paramilitary force handed them over to Haripur police station on charges of trespassing to India.
鈥榃e have successfully brought detained Bangladeshis from BSF with urgent communication. People would have to more cautious and no one should take such risk in the future,鈥 Tanzir Ahmed said.
The Bangladeshis are Tulan Pal of Thakurgaon鈥檚 Baliadangi upazila, Mithun Singh and Manhari Chandra Singh of Atwari upazila of neighbouring Panchagarh.
