A three-member delegation led by Professor Gan Zhang of the Chinese Academy of Sciences called on Dhaka University pro-vice-chancellor Professor Mamun Ahmed at the DU VC鈥檚 Meeting Room on Saturday.
Dean of the DU faculty of science Professor Abdus Salam and Profesor Md Ahsan Habib of DU chemistry department were present on this occasion, said a press release.
During the meeting, they discussed matters of mutual interests specially the possibilities of strengthening ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programmes on chemistry, environment and air pollution between the DU and the Chinese Academy.
The possibilities of undertaking more joint collaborative academic and research programmes between these two institutions were also discussed in the meeting.
They agreed to renew existing memorandum of understanding between the DU and the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The academic pro-VC Mamun Ahmed stressed the need for exchange of teachers, students and researchers between the two institutions for promoting scientific research as well as strengthening friendly relationship between Bangladesh and China.
Other team members of the academy were Professor Jun Li and Zhao Shizhen.
