Bangladesh national football team is likely to play a FIFA friendly against Nepal on November 13 instead of Afghanistan, who were supposed to visit Dhaka in early November to host Myanmar at a neutral venue in the AFC Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers fixture at the Kings Arena on November 18.

The development came after Myanmar’s refusal to play in Dhaka, with the Bangladesh Football Federation forced to convince Nepal to play the friendly match on November 13 in Dhaka ahead of Bangladesh’s home game against India in the qualifiers on November 18.

As the Afghans were supposed to visit Dhaka, the BFF arranged a friendly against the visitors at the National Stadium on November 13, but the scenario changed with Myanmar’s refusal to visit Dhaka.

‘Myanmar didn’t want to play in Dhaka against Afghanistan… Nepal will play the FIFA friendly against Bangladesh. We can confirm this after having spoken with the ANFA,’ BFF competitions committee chairman Golam Gaus told the media on Wednesday.
