In the day鈥檚 other match, Brothers Union earned a thumping 5-0 win over Wanderers Club at the Birshreshtha Flight Lt Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.
Meanwhile, the match between Mohammedan Sporting Club and Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society was postponed due to rain at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla. The match has been rescheduled for today.
In Gazipur, apart from Rakib (22nd, 68th, 77th, 88th), Uzbekistani midfielder Asror Gafurov (36th) and forwards Foysal Ahmed Fahim (38th) and Rafiqul Islam (47th) scored once each for the last edition鈥檚 champions.
Midfielder Shanto Tudu (33rd) and defender Tias Das (52nd) pulled two goals back for Fakirerpool.
In Munshiganj, Gambian duo forward Asan Njie (eighth, 85th) and midfielder Zakaria Darboe (36th, 43rd) scored a brace each, while Nigerian forward Mfon Udoh (75th) added the other one for Brothers.
With Mohammedan Sporting Club already having emerged champions, Kings (28 points from 16 matches), Abahani Limited (28 points from 15 matches), and Brothers (26 points from 16 matches) are fighting to finish as the runners-up.
