Bangladesh will take on hosts Cambodia in their AFC Under-17 Asian Cup 2025 qualifiers match at the National Sports Complex in Phnom Penh today.
The second match of the five-team Group B is scheduled to kick-off at 6:00pm Bangladesh Standard Time.
Saiful Bari Titu’s charges completed their two-day long training on Friday before facing the hosts.
Titu wants his charges to play well against harder opponents in the qualifiers, which will allow them to develop and gain confidence.
‘We have come here to face stronger teams... We will try to showcase our potential in this tournament,’ Titu said at the pre-match press conference on Friday.
‘It will be a new experience for them, and the learning opportunities will undoubtedly boost the players’ confidence to perform at a higher level. I must say that it’s a good opportunity for the players to demonstrate their true colours or confidence level,’ he added.
Bangladesh will have a three-day break before facing the Philippines in their second game on October 23, followed by Macau and Afghanistan on October 25 and 27 in their respective group fixtures.
Bangladesh will need to finish in the top two of their group to advance to the finals of the competition, which will be hosted by Saudi Arabia.
