The department of electronics and telecommunication engineering of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology held an event titled Televerse 1.0 at the Central Auditorium of CUET in Chattogram on Sunday.
CUET vice-chancellor Professor Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan was present as chief guest at the event, which was presided over by electronics and telecommunication engineering department Professor Md Jahedul Islam, said a press release.
Professor Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan said, ‘The world today is in great demand in the rapidly changing technology market worldwide. There is huge potential for everything technology-based, including networking, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Bangladesh is moving forward by participating in this advancement.’
The special guests were Professor Sheikh Shariful Alam, former pro-VC of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology; Professor Mohammad Ahsan Ullah, director of the Central Research Laboratory and Professor of the EEE department at CUET; and Golam Haider Talukder, chief engineer of the Bangladesh Power Development Board.
ETE department Professor Md Azad Hossain and convener of the event and ETE department assistant professor Md Farhad Hossain also spoke at the event.
The programme was jointly anchored by ETE 20th batch student Mishu Mitra Zeki, 21st batch students Nabila Sultana, Nishat Sayera, Md Hasibul Islam Jihad and 23rd batch student Minhazur Rahman Hasib.
More than 300 students from 34 universities of the country participated in the programme. At the end of the programme, prizes were distributed among the winners and magazine named Telitales was unveiled.
