OxfordAQA has launched its first subject-specific teacher training programme in Bangladesh, reinforcing its commitment to supporting teachers and raising educational standards in the country.

The two-day training concluded at the Hotel Sarina in Dhaka on Saturday, said a press release.

The training focused on international GCSE and A-levels English and brought together over 100 teachers from English medium schools across Bangladesh.

The sessions were conducted by Pete Bunten, an experienced senior examiner from OxfordAQA for their popular English specifications, who guided participants through effective teaching strategies, assessment practices and classroom approaches to strengthen the delivery of OxfordAQA’s English qualifications.

The event was inaugurated by Shahin Reza, country director for Bangladesh and Nepal, OxfordAQA, and Maxim Raimann, exams director, Bangladesh, British Council.

Shahin Reza said, ‘This marks an important milestone for OxfordAQA in Bangladesh. We are committed to equipping teachers with the resources, training, and confidence they need to bring out the best in their students in their OxfordAQA exams.’

This initiative represents OxfordAQA’s growing engagement with the education community in Bangladesh and its dedication to providing ongoing professional development opportunities for teachers. As part of this commitment, OxfordAQA has scheduled a series of training programmes in the coming months to further support teachers across a range of subjects.
