The press release also stated that the NBR remained committed to delivering all types of income tax services directly to taxpayers’ doorsteps.
As part of its automation initiatives, the introduction of online return filing marked a groundbreaking step, receiving a strong response from taxpayers and encouraging them to file returns spontaneously, the revenue agency added.
They also stated that online return filing and instant issuance of online income tax certificates would be available throughout the year and would continue to ensure uninterrupted services for taxpayers.
Moreover, under section 180(1) of the Income Tax Act 2023, if taxpayers identified errors after filing, they could easily submit a revised return from home within 180 days under section 180(2).
The NBR encouraged all taxpayers to use the year-round online services for filing returns and obtaining tax certificates.
