The Election Commission of the Bangladesh Cricket Board on Friday announced the final voters list of 191 councillors eligible to vote in the forthcoming election, which is set to be held on October 6.
The three-member election commission, headed by chief election commissioner Mohammad Hossain, held a virtual meeting on Friday to confirm the voters list.
The 15 clubs from Dhaka, who were absent from the preliminary list, have been reinstated in the final draft. Among them, Iftekhar Rahman Mithu has been confirmed as the councillor from Vikings Academy.
The clubs had been excluded from the draft list due to irregularities that were under investigation by the Anti-Corruption Commission. In addition, the councillorships of five districts 鈥� Sylhet, Bogura, Pabna, Sirajganj, and Naogaon 鈥� were granted.
The clubs that regained their councillorship include Exume Cricketers, Dhaka Cricket Academy, Mohammad Cricket Club, Nawabganj Cricket Coaching Academy, Purbachal Sporting Club, Gulshan Cricket Club, Old Dhaka Cricketers, Vikings Cricket Academy, Banani Cricket Club, Nakhalpara Cricketers, Mohakhali Cricket Academy, Dhanmondi Cricket Club, Pacific Cricket Club, Sapphire Sporting Club and Alpha Sporting Club.
Meanwhile, no councillor has been assigned from Narsingdi district.
