Nigar Sultana Joty, Marfua Akter, and Fahima Khatun shone as the Bangladesh Women鈥檚 Red team beat the Green team by 32 runs in the first match of the Women鈥檚 Challenge Cup at the BKSP-3 on Monday.聽
Joty, the captain of the national team, hit an unbeaten 78 runs off 131 balls as the Red managed 144 runs from 47.4 overs. Fahima Khatun made 22 off 39 balls.聽
All six bowlers of the Green were among the wickets, as Nahida Akter and Shorna Akter each took two wickets.聽
But the batters of the Green team couldn鈥檛 handle Marufa and Nahida, as they fell short when they were all out for 112 runs in 40.1 overs.聽
Five batters of the Green team made double figures, but none could cross 30.聽
Pacer Marufa took four for just 13 runs, while Fahima took four for 21 runs.聽
The BCB has arranged the three-team series as a preparation for the upcoming World Cup.聽
Along with the Green and Red teams, Bangladesh Under-15 Boys team is also taking part in the tournament.
