The first four-day match between聽Bangladesh A team and Pakistan Shaheens ended in a draw at the Islamabad Club Ground after the final day鈥檚 play was halted due to bad light on Friday.
Pakistan Shaheens had set a formidable challenge with a declaration at 367-4 in their first innings, establishing a commanding lead of 245 runs.
Bangladesh A began their second innings with caution, following an early loss of Anamul Haque for just four.
By tea on Day 4, they were 42-1 in 12 overs, still trailing by 203 runs. Zakir Hasan and Mominul Haque were at the crease, with Zakir unbeaten on 25 and Mominul on 8.
Pakistan Shaheens鈥� Mir Hamza had earlier provided the breakthrough, taking 1-8.
As the third session progressed, Bangladesh A faced increasing pressure from the disciplined Shaheens鈥� bowling attack.
Wickets fell rapidly, and Zakir, who was well-set at 33, couldn鈥檛 continue his innings.
Shahadat Hossain added 14, but Bangladesh A found themselves struggling at 77-4 in 21 overs, trailing by 168 runs at the drinks break.
Mohammad Ali and Mohammad Rameez Jnr played crucial roles in maintaining the pressure, with figures of 2-15 and 1-27, respectively.
In the final session, Bangladesh A were 153-5 in 39.2 overs when play was halted. Nayeem Hasan stood out for Bangladesh A, scoring a resilient 55, while Zakir remained unbeaten on 33.
For Pakistan Shaheens, Mir Hamza (2-13) and Mohammad Ali (2-34) were key in tightening their hold on the game.
The highlight of the match was Pakistan Shaheens鈥� middle-order batter Umar Amin, who played a marathon innings of 177 runs in the first innings.
Amin鈥檚 knock was marked by a blend of patience and aggression, featuring 23 boundaries and three sixes.
On the opening day, the hosts bowled out Bangladesh A for 122 runs in their first innings, thanks to impressive performances from fast bowlers Naseem Shah and Mir Hamza.
