The Rapid Action Battalion conducted a raid in the Mirzarpool area of Chattogram and arrested a suspected drug dealer with 1,950 Yaba pills on Friday night.
The detainee, Mir Mosharraf Hossain, 45, a resident of Maheskhali in Cox’s Bazar, was found carrying the Yaba hidden inside a light-brown shoulder bag.
According to RAB senior assistant director ARM Mozzaffar Hossain, the raid was carried out based on confidential intelligence about drug trafficking activities in a flat under Panchlaish.
A team from RAB-7, Chattogram, conducted the operation and recovered the contraband worth an estimated Tk 6 lakh.
The suspect and the seized drugs have been handed over to Panchlaish model police station for legal action.
A case has been filed with Panchlaish police in connection with the incident.
